Drew-Bak operates four 5-axis machining centres and two additional 3- and 4-axis centres. We manufacture complex solid wood and wood-based components for furniture producers and OEM customers.

Frequently asked questions

Which materials do you machine on CNC equipment?

We machine solid wood, laminated and finger-jointed elements, and wood-based materials including chipboard, MDF, HDF and plywood. Material suitability is confirmed before quotation.

Which operations do you perform on CNC machining centres?

We perform 3D milling, profiling, multi-angle drilling, grooving and machining of complex geometries. Our equipment includes four 5-axis centres, two 3- and 4-axis centres and two Intorex CNC lathes.

What documentation do you need for CNC machining?

Please provide a 2D drawing and 3D model with material, tolerances, inspection datums, batch size and required finish. We can also review a project from an approved physical model.

What is the maximum component size you can machine?

The PADE Velox machining centre has 800 mm of Z-axis travel. After allowing for tool length and fixturing, the practical component height is usually around 600 mm, but it may be higher or lower. Final feasibility is always confirmed from the model, tooling and fixture concept.

Which tolerances can you hold?

Tolerances are agreed from the documentation, material, geometry, datum strategy and number of operations. Measurement and acceptance criteria are confirmed before the run; one accuracy claim is not applied to every component.

What is the minimum run for CNC-only work?

For CNC-only work, we generally accept projects from approximately 500 repeatable components. Larger runs spread programming, fixture preparation and changeover costs more efficiently.

Can you provide further processing and finishing after CNC machining?

Yes. CNC machining can be combined with sanding, hardware installation, gluing, lacquering, oiling, hard-wax oil finishing, quality control and packing.
